We are inspired by the opening of Catalyst! This new supportive housing program for youth ages 18 – 24 years recently opened through a unique community collaboration to address youth homelessness by Children’s Home of Stockton and United Way of San Joaquin County with generous funding from the City of Stockton.
It’s inspiring when community organizations come together and demonstrate a commitment to at risk youth. On any given day, approximately 150 youth are experiencing homelessness. Though 12 beds feel slight in comparison to the need, we remain hopeful that our community will be committed to our youth and we’ll see 12 more beds, and 12 more beds until everyone has a safe place to lay their head.
